A self– initiated workshop bringing together 10 female artists and designers, to escape from the digital masses and enter into the physical world of a place. In a collective workshop as part of a residency on self-reflection, creative exchange, and learning from each other’s own perspectives and realities.
During the residency, total of 3 artworks included 3D-printed glass flowers, mixed-media sculpture, and an augmented reality (AR) piece that used photogrammetry to archivally document scenes from Kloster Stuben, the Bremm monastery where the collaborations were developed and executed. This AR replica, which also merged with digital images of Litterae Ignotas 2.0 by Delphine Lejeune and Flamboyant Windows by Adele Vivet, acted as a parallel reality for Genius Loci’s digitally- and physically-constructed artworks. It became a portal through which viewers from anywhere in the world can immerse themselves in this site of material knowledge-sharing and transformative eco-social meshwork.
