Solidifying Kavir Desert
In time of COVID-19, Solidifying Kavir Desert project started off with the desire and wonder to explore place I’ve never been. The virtual satellite image of the Kavir, reveals the Great Salt Desert lying in the middle of the Iranian Plateau. We gained total access to all corners of the world through virtual experience. However, the flatness of technology blurs the perspective of climate, life, atmosphere and land. The distance between the earth and the satellite mash into one layer, the scale of the land blurs into different sizes of our devices. Solidifying Kavir Desert project reconfiguring the flatness of the technology, sense of disconnection from the body to satellite images, and solidifying the moment of the natural phenomena.
